Childrens PUMA jackets recalled due to entanglement hazard

Baby and little kids clothes are adorable, and today there are more choices than ever. No longer are parents forced to shop at only traditional stores like OshKosh and Baby Gap. Now, high-end brand name designers are creating clothes that fit little ones that are as young as one-month old.

However, despite the cuteness of such designer duds, parents should do all they can to ensure that these clothes don't pose a safety risk. Recently, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) released a press release that discussed one particularly cute item of baby clothing that has been recalled due to a potential safety hazard.

According to CPSC's website, the PUMA USA V-Konstruct Training Jacket with Pockets poses an entanglement hazard due to the drawstring at the waist of the jacket. The jacket has a short collar, full-length zipper, a mesh panel lining the back of the shoulders and under the sleeves, two pockets and the elastic string at the waist.

The jacket was sold in red and black, green and black, blue and black, black and grey and navy and grey. The PUMA logo is imprinted on the left sleeve and upper right chest. To date, no injuries have been reported, although it is always recommended that parents take these recalls seriously.

The jackets were sold online and at Puma stores around the country from January 2007 to January 2012 and priced between $12 and $55. Mommies and daddies can take the jacket and return it to a Puma store for a full refund. For questions, CPSC recommends calling PUMA's customer service number or visiting the business' website.

Checking the CPSC website frequently can ensure that parents stay up-to-date on safety recalls that could potentially prevent their child from becoming the victim of a fatal accident or injury.
