CPSC recalls Evenflo high chair

It's no secret that parents, both experienced and new, want to do all they can to keep their baby out of harms way. That means making sure their little ones eat nutritious food and that they have regular doctor's appointments. However, although these are all things that parents need to do to keep their son or daughter safe, many mommies and daddies may not know that certain toys or baby products can pose a health or safety risk to their child.

As such, it is important that parents check the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website on a regular basis. On June 5, the safety agency recalled Evenflo's Convertible High Chairs because they reportedly pose a fall risk to babies and toddlers.

According to CPSC, the activity tray on the high chair may unexpectedly fall off, which could cause a child that isn't fastened in securely to fall. Evenflo, which is based in Miamisburg, Ohio, has received 18 separate reports of children falling out and injuring themselves after the tray detaches.

The high chairs were sold at Toys "R" Us and Walmart stores and online at Walmart.com and Wayfair.com between December 2011 and June 2012. Parents can identify the recalled this baby item by the model name and model number.

The three styles that have been recalled are the the Dottie Lime (29111259), Dottie Rose (29111271) and Marianna (29111234). If parents have purchased any of these models, they should contact Evenflo right away for a replacement tray.
