Posted on 19 March 2012

James Van Der Beek, the former star of movies such as "Varsity Blues" and the long-running TV series "Dawson's Creek," and his wife Kimberly welcomed a baby into their family on Tuesday, naming the baby boy Jackson.

''Had my first son this morning… well, actually, my wife had him,'' tweeted Van Der Beek. "I just caught him. Wow. Heart expanding way faster than my brain…"

The couple informed the public that they were expecting their second child in October. But this time, Mrs. Van Der Beek was the one tweeting. "Just when we thought we couldn't feel anymore blessed, it seems the universe has plans to give our daughter a sibling."

The couple, who married in 2010, currently have a daughter named Olivia who is 17 months old. During little Olivia's birth, her dad took to tweeting since mom was a bit preoccupied.

"Had the blessing of becoming a father over the weekend… Couldn't come close to describing this bliss even if I had 140 million characters," Van Der Beek wrote at the time.

But, Kimberly did have time after to tweet after delivering the couple's new son. "Had such a blessed and miraculous birth experience. Cannot wait to share it with all of you! :-)" and "Thank you for all the love and good wishes. I can feel it all. :-)) xo."

As with most celebrity babies, It's likely that the Van Der Beek's will receive a milieu of newborn baby gifts from famous pals like Joshua Jackson, who co-stared with James on "Dawson's Creek." And most likely, these will be gifts that would make anyone, young or old, jealous.
