Jessica Simpson gives details on what it's like being a new mom

Posted on 05 June 2012

Jessica Simpson sure has her hands full. Not only is this blonde bombshell a new mom, but she's also reportedly getting ready to go back to work as a singer, entrepreneur and actress. Oh, and let's not forget about continuing to design her clothing brand, which has become the most successful celebrity fashion line ever.

But despite all of these extra commitments, Simpson's first priority is being a mom. She told that breastfeeding her daughter is a full-time job.

However, she's not complaining, in fact, in an interview with the magazine, Simpson said "It's the worst if I have to pump and give Eric a bottle to give her. I miss holding her and having that closeness."

Simpson gave birth to Maxwell Drew Johnson on May 1 via Cesarean section. On Halloween, the new mom and her fiance, NFL player, Eric Johnson, announced they were expecting.

And it looks like the new parents can already see some of their qualities in baby Maxwell. Simpson told People that their couple's daughter inherited her eyes and her fiance's calm nature.

Despite all the hard work it takes to be first-time parents, Simpson said her and Johnson stare at Maxwell constantly. During her interview, she even said "We can't get enough!" And it looks like daddy Johnson is just as involved as Jessica is. During the interview and photoshoot at the couple's Los Angeles home, he said "We're team Maxwell."

New parents should remember that having a baby can be overwhelming at first. That is why it is important to work together and help out with feeding, changing, bathing and spending time with the baby.

Websites provide moms and dads with great advice that can make those first few months a bit easier.
