Papa Bear Loungeabouts Children's Pajamas is recalled

One of the many joys of becoming parents is receiving essential baby items like strollers, adorable pajamas and diaper cakes. But recently, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) released a report alerting parents to the potential dangers of an item that is meant to keep little ones warm and comfortable.

The Papa Bear Loungeabouts Children's Pajamas have been recalled because they do not not meet federal flammability standards for children's sleepwear. And because they pose a risk of burn injury to children, the commission is recommending parents stop dressing their children in the sleepwear and return it to the store where it was purchased for a store credit or refund.

The recall involves all styles of pj sets, including sleep pants and nightgowns in boys and girls sizes ranging from 0 to 6X and 7 to 14. The pajamas are distinguished by a garment label with the name "Papa Bear Loungeabouts" and a picture of a bear sewn into the center back neckline.

Depending on the style, the garments are made from 100 percent cotton poplin or 100 percent cotton flannel and come in a variety of colors and designs ranging from cows to hotrods to ballerinas.

The pajamas that are being recalled were available for purchase at specialty retail stores and online websites between December 2004 and January 2011. Although no injuries have been reported, it is important that parents heed the warning released by the CPSC to ensure their child's safety.

It is always a good idea for parents to keep up with the latest product recalls. Doing so will ensure that their little bundle of joy does not come in contact or use any products that could potentially pose a risk to their health and safety.
